Follow these easy steps to get your Zanussi ZEL 160 W Refrigerator up and running in no time.

1. Unpacking and Positioning

Remove all securing tapes and packaging materials. Carefully move the refrigerator to its location, ensuring it is not close to radiators, boilers, or exposed to direct sunlight. The back of the appliance should be close to a wall but must not touch it, allowing for adequate ventilation.

2. Initial Cleaning

Before using the refrigerator, clean the interior with a mixture of lukewarm water and bicarbonate of soda (5 ml to 0.5 litre of water). Do not use soap or detergent as the smell may linger. Dry thoroughly after cleaning.

3. Allow Refrigerant to Settle

After positioning, leave the refrigerator for 2 hours before turning it on, to allow the refrigerant to settle.

4. Adjust the Level

Adjust the level of the appliance by screwing out the adjustable foot or feet at the bottom using your fingers. This ensures stability.

5. Electrical Connection

Connect the appliance to the power supply. If necessary, fit your own plug by connecting the green and yellow (earth) wire to the terminal marked with 'E' or the earth symbol, the blue (neutral) wire to the terminal marked with 'N', and the brown (live) wire to the terminal marked with 'L'.

6. Setting the Temperature

Use the thermostat control knob to set the desired temperature. Positions range from 1 (minimum coldness) to 6 (maximum coldness). An intermediate position is usually suitable, but factors like room temperature and the amount of food stored may require adjustments.
